Ikea flatpack for your fur babies is a thing (Gallery) (Video)

Ikea has launched a pet range of furniture.

Ikea has taken their commitment to providing the world with hard-to-assemble flatpack furniture to the next level with the unveiling of its comprehensive pet furniture range.

The new range, known as Lurvig (Swedish for hairy), includes fur-friendly blankets and rugs, dog's beds, cat houses, travel bags, scratching mats, litter trays and pet waste bags.

With prices ranging US$0.79 (NZ$1.12) for a food bowl to $77.70 for a cat house on legs with a pad, this range allows pet owners to purchase neat furniture for their pets without spending a fortune.

Hold your horses, now you can assemble flat-pack furniture for your pooch too.

The collection, which is available to view online, is currently being rolled out in stores across the US, Canada, France and Japan, with other countries set to receive the pooch-friendly range in March 2018.

Although New Zealand doesn't yet have an Ikea store, there is still a chance for Kiwis to get their hands on the pet-friendly furniture range.

Akia, an Ikea parallel importer, doesn't currently have any pet furniture in stock as it is not available at their supplier yet. They will consider getting some in if enough of us are interested.

"It will be on demand at this stage," a spokesperson said. "If the product gets popular, we will bring it in."

Finally we can get our hands on affordable and attractive pet furniture.

You know what this means New Zealand. It's time to start calling your favourite Ikea parallel importers.

Lurvig pet bed with pad, US$37.98 (NZ$53.67).

Lurvig Cat house on legs, US$54.98 (NZ$77.70).

The Lurvig dog blanket is available to purchase for US$19.99 (NZ$28.25).

The Lurvig cat scratching mat could be yours for US$5.99 (NZ$8.47).

The Lurvig range even has a play tunnel for cats, US$7.99 (NZ$11.29).
