Google Maps adds shareable lists

You can make your lists public so others can follow you and access your recommendations.

You can now share lists of your favourite places with the Google Maps app.

The app (free for Apple and Android) was updated on Tuesday to allow you to create a list of bars, restaurants, campgrounds or any other of your top spots.

You can then share these lists with friends via text, email, social networks and popular messaging apps.

One you've found a spot in Google Maps, save it to either a pre-set list such as "want to go" or create your own list.

To recall the lists you've created, go to Your Places (in the side menu) and then open the saved tab.

You can also make your lists public so others can follow you and access your recommendations.

Lists can also be viewed offline so if you download a map for an area before visiting you can use both the GPS and list features of Google Maps without an internet or cellular connection.
